Poultry farm biosecurity

Digital farm biosecurity: procedures, register and flock passport

Biosecurity procedures written once, carried out against a checklist and recorded in a single farm register. For an inspection you show a ready report, not a binder.

verifiedFrom the team that has organised work on poultry farms for years.

Sound familiar?

The procedures are in the plan, the proof is missing

A biosecurity plan is only half the job. Inspectors ask whether the procedures are actually carried out.

edit_note

Disinfection log filled in afterwards

Date, product and dose written from memory days later. An entry like that is hard to defend during an inspection.

folder_open

Every record kept separately

Entries in one place, rodent control in another, treatments in a third. Putting together a flock history takes a whole day.

engineering

Contractors leave no trace

An outside crew does the disinfection and the farm is left with an invoice. Nobody knows exactly what was done in which house.

help

Questions from the slaughterhouse and buyers

Where the flock came from, what it was treated with, when the house was disinfected. Answering means digging through several folders.

Move your biosecurity procedures from the binder into the system.

How it works

Biosecurity procedures that leave a record

Every execution is an entry: who, what, when, where and under which procedure.

library_books

Procedures from ready templates

Post-cycle house cleaning and disinfection, hygiene lock, mats and clothing, rodent control, insect control, fogging, vehicle disinfection, fencing and wild bird protection, bedding, facility cleaning. The company copies a template and adapts it to its farm. Each procedure has a code (e.g. BIO-07) and a version.

photo_camera

Complete execution record

Who, when, in which house, under which procedure. Checklist ticked X of Y, product and dose used, photos, an optional scan of the house QR code and the device the entry came from.

checklist

Result calculated from the checklist

Each entry is marked “compliant” or “non-compliant” based on the ticked items, not on what the person filling it in declares.

lock

Corrections instead of edits

A completed entry cannot be changed. A fix is a correction shown next to the original, so the history stays complete.

handshake

Checklists for contractors

After a service is ordered, for example disinfection by an outside company, the crew leader gets a checklist for each house. The execution lands in the farm register like any other.

health_and_safety

Hygiene declaration at the gate

Visitors can fill in a hygiene declaration when entering the farm, and the system warns about quarantine. Nothing blocks entry. The farmer is informed and decides.

Records

Biosecurity register, flock passport and reports

All farm records in one place, ready to show the authorities, the slaughterhouse or a customer.

timeline

Farm register on one timeline

Visitor entries, vehicles, deliveries, completed procedures, quarantines, treatments with withdrawal periods and IRZ notifications in one view. Download a PDF for the inspection.

badge

Flock passport

The flock history from the hatchery through placement, houses, procedures and vet visits to loading, transport and the slaughterhouse.

picture_as_pdf

Report for authorities

A private report for veterinary, agricultural or sanitary inspectors: a PDF file or a link with an expiry date. Every time the link is opened, it is recorded.

qr_code_2

Report for consumers

A public page opened from the QR code on the packaging. It shows facts about the flock only, with no personal data.

Getting started

From template to report in four steps

  1. 1

    Pick your procedures

Copy the templates that apply on your farm and adapt checklists, products and doses to your houses.

  2. 2

    Work through the checklist

A worker or contractor crew leader opens the procedure, ticks the items, enters the product and dose and takes photos. The result is calculated automatically.

  3. 3

    The register collects everything

Procedure executions appear on the farm timeline together with entries, vehicles, deliveries, treatments and IRZ notifications.

  4. 4

    Share the report

A PDF or a link with an expiry date for inspections. A page behind the QR code on the packaging for customers.

Start with one procedure, such as post-cycle house cleaning and disinfection.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about digital biosecurity

What is digital farm biosecurity?add

Biosecurity procedures kept in a system instead of on paper. Each execution records the person, time, house, procedure, checklist, product and dose, and photos. The records go into the farm register, which produces the inspection report. General rules are covered on the poultry farm biosecurity page.

Do I have to write procedures from scratch?add

No. There are templates for post-cycle house cleaning and disinfection, the hygiene lock, rodent control, insect control, fogging, vehicle disinfection and more. Copy a template and adapt it to your farm. Each procedure gets a code and a version, so you know which version an entry followed.

Can a wrong entry be fixed?add

A completed entry cannot be changed. Mistakes are fixed with a correction shown next to the original. The inspector sees both the original entry and the fix.

How do I record work done by a contractor, e.g. disinfection?add

After a service is ordered, the crew leader gets a checklist for each house. The execution is recorded the same way as the work of farm staff and goes into the register.

What is a flock passport?add

The history of one flock: hatchery, placement, houses, completed procedures, vet visits and finally loading, transport and the slaughterhouse. Treatments and withdrawal periods are described on the treatment records page.

What do authorities see and what do consumers see?add

The report for authorities is private: a PDF or a link with an expiry date, and every opening of the link is recorded. The consumer report opens from the QR code on the packaging and shows facts about the flock only, with no personal data.

Does the hygiene declaration block entry to the farm?add

No. The declaration at the gate is optional and the quarantine warning blocks nothing. The farmer is informed and decides. Visitor sign-in itself is covered by the farm entry and exit log.

Where does it work?add

In the browser panel and in the apps: Farmer (also offline), Worker and Manager.
