For pig farmers

A pig farm app: rooms, pig cards and water in one place

Split the building into rooms; each has its own group, entries, water meter and alerts. A card with a QR code hangs over the pen, and you and your worker enter data from the phone, even with no signal.

verifiedFrom the team that has organised work on poultry farms for years.

From talks with farmers

What gets in the way in a pig house today

We heard these from finishing and sow farmers. That is where we started.

description

A sheet over the pen and a notebook

Weights, deaths and medicines sit on paper in different places. Pulling it together is hard when you need to check something.

meeting_room

One building, several groups of different ages

Weaners and finishers from different batches share one house. The building total does not tell you which room is doing worse.

water_drop

Hardly anyone records water

A drop in drinking often comes before other signs, but without water meter readings there is nothing to compare.

signal_cellular_off

No signal inside the pig house

Your worker should enter data on the spot, but the phone has no network. It ends up on paper and retyped in the evening.

Start with one building and a few rooms.

Pig house and animals

Every room and every pig in the app

Building, rooms, groups and individual animals are linked. You see the whole house and each pen separately.

grid_view

Building split into rooms

Rooms, sections or pens, whatever you call them. Each has its own group, entries, water meter and alerts.

qr_code_2

Pig card with a QR code

Print the card and hang it over the pen. Scanning the code with a phone opens the animal’s card in the app.

swap_horiz

Animal movements

Death, culling, sale and transfer to another room. The group count updates after every entry.

handshake

Handover to another farm

For example in a closed cycle: the father keeps sows, the son runs finishing. The recipient accepts the handover and the animals join their stock.

monitor_weight

Stage from weight

The app assigns the stage itself: piglet, weaner, finisher. You set the weight thresholds for your farm.

tune

Production type at sign-up

Choose finishing, sows or a closed cycle. The app shows names and fields that fit your production.

Feed, water and people

Daily work without retyping

water_drop

Water meter in every room

Type the meter reading or take a photo. The app reads the number from the photo; you check it and save.

show_chart

Supplier’s feeding curve

Upload the file from your feed or weaner supplier (CSV, Excel or PDF). Actual weights and intake appear next to the curve.

sensors

Silo feed level sensor

A sensor on the silo sends the level to the app. You know how much feed is left without climbing the ladder.

checklist

Task lists for workers

Set a list for each room: water, feed, clean. The worker ticks the tasks off and adds a photo.

cloud_off

Works offline

The farmer and worker apps store entries on the phone and send them when the network is back.

door_front

QR entry log

A code on the gate; visitors check in from their phone. You get a list of who was on the farm, with date and time.

Getting started

How it works

  1. 1

    Create an account

At sign-up choose pigs and the production type: finishing, sows or a closed cycle.

  2. 2

    Split the building into rooms

Add the building, its rooms and animal groups. Set stage weight thresholds and alerts.

  3. 3

    Print cards and add people

Hang QR cards over the pens. Give workers access to the app with their task lists.

  4. 4

    Enter data as you go

Weights, deaths, movements, water and feed go into the app from the pig house. Charts and the curve comparison build themselves.

Who it is for

Finishing, sows or a closed cycle

scale

Finishing

You buy weaners and take them to slaughter weight. Deaths, gain, feed and water in each room are what count.

family_restroom

Sows

You sell piglets or weaners. Keep sow cards, piglet groups and their movements. A full breeding module is in progress.

autorenew

Closed cycle

Your own piglets and your own finishing, sometimes on two family farms. Handover between farms with the recipient’s acceptance keeps stock right on both sides.

Questions

Common questions from pig farmers

DlaFerm started with poultry. Does it work for pigs?add

Yes. At sign-up you choose pigs and the app shows names and fields for pigs: rooms, pens, piglets, weaners, finishers. We added the pig features after talking to finishing and sow farmers.

Do I have to buy sensors?add

No. You can type weights, deaths, feed and water meter readings by hand or photograph the meter. You can add a silo feed level sensor whenever you want.

How does the QR card over the pen work?add

Print the card from the app and hang it over the pen. Scanning the code with a phone opens that animal’s card, where you add an entry straight away.

What if there is no signal in the pig house?add

The farmer app and the worker app work offline. Entries are stored on the phone and sent automatically when the signal returns.

We run a closed cycle on two family farms. How do we hand over animals?add

A handover links the sending and receiving farm. The recipient accepts it, and the animals leave one farm’s stock and appear in the other’s as a placement.

How does the app know if it is a piglet, weaner or finisher?add

From the weight. You set thresholds for your farm and the app assigns the stage from the latest weighing.

Create an account and add your first room.
