The silo tells you itself how much feed it holds
The sensor measures the level and sends readings to the app. You see the percentage, the forecast in days and get an alert when the flock starts eating less than it should. No more tapping the metal with a stick.
verifiedFrom the team that has organised work on poultry farms for years.
How much feed is left? Guessing has a cost
Each of these situations is a real risk. The sensor solves them all at once — without changing your daily farm routine.
Tapping the silo with a stick
You tap the metal and try to judge from the sound how many kilograms are left. Getting it wrong by a day means an empty feeder.
Ordering a day too late
You realise the feed is running out only when the feeders are almost empty. The feed mill needs at least a day.
Disease only visible in mortality
The flock has been eating less for days, but you notice only when birds start dying — not when the problem is just beginning.
Checking in person
To know what is happening at the silo you have to drive there or send someone. Even from your holiday.
The sensor keeps an eye on the silo. You handle the rest.

No cables in the poultry house, no internet by the silo. The sensor sends readings over the LoRaWAN radio network — the same waves that travel through walls and across distance.
Sensor on the silo
You mount the device on top of the silo — no cables, no interference with the poultry house electrics. We help with the first sensor.
Measurement and transmission
The sensor measures the level (or feed weight) and sends a reading every few hours over LoRaWAN. The battery lasts for years.
Reading in the app
You open DlaFerm.pl and see the current level of every silo — from your phone or computer, wherever you are.
Alerts to your phone
When the level drops below the threshold, you get a notification. The feeders never go empty.
"Six days of feed left" — where does that number come from?
We do not guess. We calculate the forecast from your flock’s real consumption: how much feed disappeared from the silo over the last few days, divided by the number of birds and the age of the flock.
Actual flock consumption
We look at how much feed actually disappeared from the silo over the past few days. Not a table norm — your flock, your farm.
Forecast in days
Based on daily consumption we calculate how many days until the silo runs out. You see a concrete number in the app.
You order in good time
You have two or three buffer days before the feed runs out. You order calmly, not in a rush.
The feed mill reacts faster
When the level drops below your threshold, your feed mill can receive a signal and propose a delivery — often before you even call.
Is the flock eating less? You know on day one.
The system knows the feeding norm for your flock’s breed and age. It compares it with what actually disappears from the silo every day. When the birds eat more than 20% less than they should — you get an alert. A drop in appetite is most often the first sign of disease — long before you see it in mortality.
"The flock is eating 24% less than the norm (1.82 kg/day vs 2.40 kg/day). Check appetite, feed access and flock health."
Why farmers let sensors onto their farms
Mount it and forget it
No cables, no internet by the silo. The sensor runs for years on a battery. When the battery is low — you hear about it in advance.
It tells you what to do
Instead of a table of readings you get the point: "six days left, order feed." Nothing to calculate.
Connected to the Flock Card
Silo level, consumption and the appetite alert are in the same app as the Flock Card and treatments. No switching between apps.
You know first
Feed running low, flock eating less, sensor gone silent — you get a notification for each of these events right away.
From silo to app in three steps
Create an account
Register your farm in DlaFerm.pl. The account is free — within 24 hours we grant access and help you configure your silos.
Install the sensor
We are with you for the first sensor. Installation takes about fifteen minutes, no cables and no electrician.
Readings flow in by themselves
You open the app and see the level in every silo. Forecasts and alerts work from day one.

Join DlaFerm.plFrequently asked questions about silo feed level sensors
How does a feed silo level sensor work?add
The sensor is mounted on top of the silo — no cables, no interference with the electrics. The device measures the feed level or weight and sends a reading every few hours over the LoRaWAN radio network. The reading goes into the DlaFerm.pl app, where you see the current state of every silo.
Where does the "X days of feed left" forecast come from?add
We calculate the forecast from your flock’s real consumption: how much feed actually disappeared from the silo over the past few days, taking the number of birds and the age of the flock into account. Not a table norm — your flock on your farm.
Will I get an alert when the flock eats less?add
Yes. The system knows the feeding norm for your flock’s breed and age. When the birds eat more than 20% below the norm, you get a push notification on your phone. A drop in appetite is often the first sign of disease — long before mortality.
Does the sensor require internet at the silo or cables in the poultry house?add
No. The sensor works over LoRaWAN — a radio technology with a range of many kilometres that does not need Wi-Fi or a cable near the silo. The battery lasts for years, and we notify you about its condition in advance.
Is the sensor data in the same app as the Flock Card?add
Yes. Silo level, depletion forecast and appetite alert are all visible in the same DlaFerm.pl as the Flock Card, treatments and biosecurity. No switching between apps.
